Notes for William Ezra Colpitts
From the papers of Elmer Colpitts:
“According to Edwin Colpitts, Uncle William Colpitts, lived on what had been his father's farm at Middle Coverdale and my grandmother Colpitts lived there and kept house in her own rooms until her death. His first wife was a sister of my mother and their son Trueman Colpitts lived at Sunny Brae,N,B. (now a part of Moncton) and was employed by the Canadian National Railway until a few years before his death, about 1940. The children of William E. Colpitts' second wife were Jennie, Harold, and Gertude. Jennie was the first wife of your Uncle Watt Steeves and died of arthritis a few years after their marriage. Harold Colpitts went to Winnipeg when he was a young man and worked fro the Canadian Pacific Railway as a locomotive fireman and then as engineer. He died in 1952. He was married twice but I know very little about his family. Gertude never married and worked in a bank in Winnipeg. She lives in Winnipeg.”
