Listed with her parents in the 1861 census mistakenly as “Elizabeth A.” in Claverton, but no longer by 1871. Listed as “Kate Sutherland” with her sister at a girl’s school in Bath in 1871.26 The 1861 “Elizabeth A.” appears to be an accidental subsitution of “Elizabeth” (her sister’s middle name) for Catherine.
