“Laura first lived at Shenstone, Albert County, N.B. after her marriage where her husband farmed. They then moved to East Williamsdale, Nova Scotia, where her husband was in charge of the buildings and grounds of the Adventist Academy. They moved to Memramcook, N.B. when the Academy was moved there and had the same position. They moved to Redlands, California, possibly about 1925, where her husband was a carpenter. My mother and my brother, Walter, spend the winter of 1927-28 with them in Redlands. Laura and her husband were second cousins. Watt's father and Laura's father were first cousins. They had two children: Julia Steeves, born November 7, 1908; and Wallace Steeves, born April 1914. The daughter, Julia, who is Mrs. Kenneth Seams, lives at 14323 Hatteras Street , Van Nuys, California. Kenneth and Julia, have a daughter,Shirley who graduated from high school in June 1952,and married Daniel Albert Henderson July 19,1953.
The son J. Wallace Steeves, was married in Los Angeles, August 11, 1940 and he and his wife were killed the next day in a collison with a fruit truck near San Luis Obispo, California.”
