Notes for Bernard Law Kirkpatrick
from Trevor Kirkpatrick, his descendent:
“Bernard came over in or about 1826 and settled in St. John first. By 1828 he was residing in King's County, NS and by 1829 in the Pictou area also where he started as a merchant. John and George [Kirkpatrick] were both born in Kilbarren Parish. Bernard, we have not found proof yet of where he came from. He did come over with his mother Catherine who was born in 1753 and died in 1840 is buried in St. James also.”
121After 1st wife Ann “Nancy” Givan died in 1833 he remarried Ann Hatton. Bernard is buried in St. James Anglican (Pictou-Haliburton) Churchyard in Pictou with his second wife Ann Hatton.
