Letita [sic] is mentioned only once in Ham’s references and not listed in other areas. She married John Kirkpatrik [sic] and had a daughter Olivia Givan Kirkpatrik but there is no other information at all.
12She may, in fact, be unrelated. Trevor Kirkpatrick (descended from Bernard Law Kirkpatrick) thought Letitia was a Patterson, not a Givan. However then it remains unexplained why her daughter has the Christian names Olivia Given. Furthermore, John Kirkpatrick wrote his signature as a witness to the Last Will and Testament of William Givan Junior, suggesting a link to the Givan family.
Came from Ireland to Nova Scotia in 1822. In May 1833, the Kirkpatrick family moved to the United States from St. John's, New Brunswick on the schooner "Spray" along with about 225 other people. They arrived in New York City on May 21,1833 and resided in Brooklyn, NY for several years. They later moved to a farm at Linden, between New Brunswick and Metuchen, NJ (Formerly Piscataway area of NJ).
