The middle name of Magdalena is from christening records in Philadelphia. She is listed on the original 1766 list of settlers of Monctkon Township as the second daughter and writing appears to say “Efa. Salmy Summer”, although perhaps the writing of the middle name could be interpreted as “Sahrey”.111 There are several references later to “Sarah” Somers born around the same time who married Ben Allen so it appears this is an anglicized version of “Salmy” or “Sahrey”.
Sarah (Somers) Allen had a grandson named Andrew Somers Allen, possibly named after his great uncle, providing some more circumstantial evidence supporting the case that Sarah Allen was the brother of Andrew Somers.
