The earliest of our ancestors to come to the
American colonies were Palatinate Germans who settled in Germantown,
Pennsylvania
in the mid-1700's before moving on to Monckton Township, New Brunswick
in 1766.
Next, the Givans travelled back and forth between the Maritime
Provinces and Boston, Massachusetts in the latter half of the 1800's
(and Nina Givan ended up migrating west to Salt Lake City, Utah where
some of her descendents still live).
Coluccio's, Di Paola's and Valenti's came to New York and New Jersey at
the turn of the 20th century.
A.F.B. Burt's family emigrated from Shediac, New Brunswick to
Connecticut in 1917 although
later daughter Frances moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1929.
